ACOUSMATICS is an artistic development work by Leif Eriksson, teacher at the School of Film Directing at the University of Gothenburg. The Board for Artistic Research at the Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts annually supports development projects which purpose is to expand and deepen reflection on artistic practice.
The project ACOUSMATICS is aimed at researching into the field of sound, from examining the audiovisual contract between audience and the expression of the film but also to problematize the relation between sound and consciousness, rythm, pace and the body among other issues concerning soundwork.
Participating in the project is also Tommy Spaanheden, technician at the School of Film Directing. Advisory person is Kalle Boman, professor at the school.
The project ACOUSMATICS will be presented in form of a 40-60 minutes essay/documentary film based mainly on interviews and elements of associative sound- and picturework.
Timeframe for the project is from february 2010 up until first screening and presentation in february 2011.
